Drunkin Shad Zoom 5 Soft Plastic Bass Lure

Our 5" Drunkin Shad is the perfect "Fluke" style soft Jerkbait, designed to catch not only average 1 to 2 pounders but also big 'uns. At 5" in length, it's just the right size. This versatile bait excels when skipped under docks, overhanging cover, or thrown into a group of bustin' fish, gorging on shad. Fished weightless, it mimics a dying shad - erratically darting and fluttering away as it slowly sinks.

We use a medium grade plastisol to give the Drunkin Shad toughness when being skipped, placed into hard to reach places, or inside the mouth of a fish. Additionally, the twin tail's suppleness provides the action needed to entice the bass into biting.

The ideal rig we've found for these baits is fished weightless on an EWG, Texposed hook, using a 7' Medium light spinning rod, on 12lb braid to an 8lb fluorocarbon leader. Cast or skip the bait into the cover, allow it to fall on semi-slack line, give it 1 to 2 rod twitches, then let the bait fall. Rinse and repeat.

To further enhance performance, you can insert a small 3/32oz weight on the underside of the nose, giving it extra casting distance and a faster rate of fall.

Durability-wise, the Drunkin Shad is medium-grade, lasting 3-5 fish per bait. Measuring 5" in length, its body shape starts at the nose, extends into the mid-section which bellies down and has a gap to insert a hook, and culminates in twin forked straight tails.
